The RMIT School of Design acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land— the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Boon Wurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin Nations, where we gather to teach and learn. We pay our respects to their Elders, past, present, and emerging, and recognise their ever-lasting care and connections to the land, water, and skies. It is this care that enables us to design, and learn design practices with consideration of place at RMIT University.
As designers who reflect on both local and global histories, truths, and ways of knowing and designing, we aim to transform the future of creative industries. We honour the stories, traditions, and wisdom that have long been part of this Country. We reflect on how these insights guide us in fostering respectful relationships with the natural world. In turn, our care for Country is reflected in our care for one another and our honouring of diverse design practices. In acknowledging this, we affirm that sovereignty was never ceded.
Always Was, Always Will Be.
